In 1973, biochemist Loren Pickart discovered a naturally occurring peptide in human plasma that had an extraordinary ability to stimulate tissue repair. He called it GHK — glycine-histidine-lysine. When bound to copper, it became GHK-Cu, and it turned out to be one of the most remarkable molecules in human biology.
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring human peptide that declines dramatically with age. At age 20, plasma GHK-Cu levels are approximately 200 ng/mL. By age 60, they have dropped to 80 ng/mL — a 60% decline. This decline correlates closely with the visible signs of skin aging.
GHK-Cu does not just slow aging. It actively reverses the molecular markers of skin aging at the genetic level.
The most important rule with copper peptides is: do not mix them with Vitamin C or strong acids at the same time. Copper ions can oxidize Vitamin C, reducing the efficacy of both. Use your copper peptide products in the evening and your Vitamin C in the morning for maximum benefit from both.
Copper peptides are also not compatible with retinol in the same application — the combination can cause irritation. If you use both, alternate evenings: copper peptides on Monday, Wednesday, Friday; retinol on Tuesday, Thursday.
The CU GLOW™ Collection — our Anti-Aging Serum, Eye Rescue Balm, and Moisturizing Face Cream — was developed to give copper peptide the full-routine treatment it deserves. Each product delivers GHK-Cu at its clinically validated concentration, in a base formulated to maximize penetration and stability. Together, they create a complete copper peptide ecosystem for the face.
